ADDX
Creating an account type on ADDX was an uphill task for institutional investors. There were 4 account types which were closely linked, with almost indistinguishable differences. As part of the account creation process, we attempted to describe each account type, but it didn’t help to make the decision-making process easier.
The problem: Simplify the account type descriptions for institutional investors so it makes the decision-making process for opening an account easier.
The process: I deep-dived into understanding what each account type enables the investor to do through research and interacting with Product Managers and Product Designers. This facilitated a thorough understanding of the capabilities of each account type, and the primary/secondary reasons why an investor might choose to open a particular account. Through that, I discovered that the capabilities and permissions of each account type differed greatly, and could be used as a distinguishing factor.
The solution: To construct simple, one to two-liner descriptions for the account types that are action-based (i.e. Invest/Give) and describe the differences that affect the capabilities and permissions of each account type.
